Portraits in Glass
2-Day Glass Workshop
January 20 & 27
4-6pm Youth/Teen
We will use sheet glass, powders, beads, copper and more to create dynamic, heavily embellished portraits. Imagination will be stressed over drawing skills - and the results will be whimsical - or not. Your choice! Prior experience in cutting and working with glass is helpful, but not mandatory. All materials are included.

Sculpture
3-Day Mixed Media Workshop
January 25, February 1 & 8
1:30 - 3:30pm
We will apply fiber, basketry and metals construction methods to a wide range of materials (including found, salvaged and collected materials) to create expressive sculptural forms. As we explore line, volume, form, and texture - students will be exposed to unique and unexpected construction techniques in connecting a variety of materials. No experience is necessary and basic materials are included - but students will be encouraged to forage for materials that speak to them.

Warm Glass
3-Day Frit Forms Workshop

Back because you asked! Using crushed glass, students will create delicate glass bowls that have the unique luminescence of pate de verre. Glass fusing experience is helpful, but not mandatory. All supplies are included. Register early, this workshop is limited to 8 students.

WireWorking
2-Day Jewelry Workshop
February 3 & 10
4 -6pm Teen+
We'll explore several textile-like techniques in wire that look complex - but are actually very easy to do! You'll want to incorporate these techniques in your beading and jewelry - or use them in their stand-alone elegance! No experience is necessary; basic supplies are included. Additional supplies will be available for purchase.

Polymer Clay
2-Day Intro Workshop
February 17 & 24

If you've been looking for a way to expand your creative work - without having to invest in expensive equipment- you should be looking at Polymer Clay! It's one of the most popular materials currently being used in art jewelry, sculpture, and mixed media/altered art! We'll explore the basics - plus: caning, color blending - combining with metals, etc. and see what take this material from craft to Art!

Findings 1 Day Wire/Metals Workshop

If you want to take our jewelry to the next level, look at your findings. The right materials, design and attachment can make all the difference! In this class we will introduce the methods you will want to use to make your own findings - and provide you with resources for more! 4-Day Mixed Media Workshop

Dragons and monsters and cute little puppies! If you can imagine it - you can make it. We'll mix realities, mediums, colors - and learn processes that will enable you to bring your dreams to life! No experience necessary - all materials included. Register early, limited to 4 participants.

Gourds 2-Day Mixed Media Workshop
March 1 & 8
3:30 - 5pm FAMILY • AGE 9 & up + Mom or Dad
Spend a few relaxing hours creating and connecting with your son or daughter. We'll make a gourd sculpture using a variety of surface decorating techniques. No experience necessary. All materials will be provided - though you may also want to bring your own personal embellishments! (Additional gourds may be purchased)

Dimensional Encaustics
3-Day VERY Mixed Media Workshop

March 1, 8 & 15

This introductory workshop is designed to introduce you to unique processes that take encaustic painting to a new dimension! We will create pieces that focus on texture - and embody the unique qualities of light, depth and color that only the encaustic method can create. Encaustic painting experience is helpful, but not mandatory, as basic instruction is included.

Surface Treatments & Patination
4-Day Metals Workshop

March 3, 10, 17 & 24

Creating surface interest in wire and metals can be one of the most powerful aspects of design! We will explore a variety of methods used to create texture, color and depth in copper, silver, brass, bronze, nickel silver and steel. Even if you have never worked with metals before, you can create a stunning bookplate, or jewelry piece. Basic materials are included; additional materials are available for purchase.

Hydraulic Forming 2-Day Metals Workshop

We will create unique shapes - and use the hydraulic press to form them in metal. Metals experience is helpful, but not mandatory. Students will be introduced to some of the properties of metals, as well as the processes of piercing, sawing and finishing. All supplies are included. Class is limited to 8 students.

Again, because you asked: If you like to draw or paint – or if you are a poet or calligrapher – you will be amazed to see how your work glows in glass! We will create images that are permanently fused in glass. No experience is necessary and all supplies are included.

The Etched Surface – 2 Day Metals Workshop

Even if you have never worked with metals before, you can create a stunning bookplate, or jewelry. We will use safe and simple etching techniques for non-ferrous metals; and then pierce, saw and finish our etched designs. No experience is necessary - all materials are included.
