JUNE

Dream Castles Mom ‘n Me Morning
June 2 9:30 – 11am
Spend a lovely morning experiencing art with your child! This morning we’ll be exploring and expressing what’s in our dreams, using paint and mixed media. Bring a non-peanut snack, paint smocks or an old shirt – we’ll provide everything else.

That’s My Mug! Mom ‘n Me Morning
June 16 9:30 – 11 am
Using our unique cellulose-infused stoneware, even little ones can work in clay! This morning we’ll make matching mugs! No experience necessary – all supplies included. Dress to get wet, get muddy – and have fun!

All That Glitters! 3 Day Fused Glass Camp

We know that, given proper instruction and guidance, children can work safely and successfully in “real” art media. And we believe that giving them this opportunity encourages their confidence and self-esteem – while opening the door to a world of new learning opportunities! Mini Me 3 Day Fused Glass Camp

4 Day Beginning Metals Camp
July 6 – 9 9:30 – 12 noon
Campers will learn basic metal-working skills as they build a small sculpture or jewelry piece incorporating mixed metals. We will explore the properties of a variety of metals – and learn about the tools and processes used to shape, form, connect & finish them. No experience is necessary. All supplies are included. Bring a non-peanut snack & something healthy to drink.

4 Day Metals Camp
July 6 - 9 1 – 3:30 pm
This camp is designed for students who have had an introduction to metals and/or are also attending the morning camp. Students will be introduced to soldering, etching, using the rolling mill & hydraulic press - as well as important finishing techniques. All supplies are included. Bring a non-peanut snack & something healthy to drink

Glass Wind Chimes 2 Day Glass+ Mini Camp

2 Day Clay Mini Camp

Faux Stone 4 Day Sculpture Camp
July 26 – 29 9:30 – 12 noon
Here’s the perfect art camp for the “I can’t draw” kid! We understand that some brains (and hands!) really don’t want to draw – so, instead of forcing it (and turning kids off to art), we recommend celebrating it! We’ll work viscerally, spontaneously – in 3-D. Because we know that, once you learn to really look – once you’ve experienced your own successes in art – drawing will come when the time is right. Expect this camp to be easy, playful – and amazing! Bring a non-peanut snack & something healthy to eat.

4 Day Glass Camp Advanced Techniques
July 26 – 29 1 – 3:30 pm
Students with some glass fusing experience will have a unique opportunity to explore the vitrograph; make pattern bars; use the sandblaster – and take their work to the next level! (If you have not taken a glass class at The Ranch, call for permission to enroll in this camp)

5 Day Very Mixed Media Camp
August 23 – 27 9:30 – 12 noon
This camp will be tailored directly to the students enrolled! On our first 2 days, we will explore 5 different ways of making art (by making 5 very different things!) On days 3 – 5, we will choose the 3 that most compel us – and make a final project that incorporates them. Expect to stretch your thinking, color outside the box – and have a blast! Bring a non-peanut snack & something healthy to drink.

5 Day Painting/Printmaking Camp
August 23 – 27 1 – 3:30pm
This special camp includes a visit from an amazing guest artist who will introduce you to simple, but unusual tools and techniques that will bring your ideas to life! Even if you are new to painting and printmaking, you can expect to come away from this week’s camp with truly beautiful work. Bring a non-peanut snack & something healthy to drink.

Session 4 - February 23 - March 20

Kiln-formed Glass
February 24, March 3, 10 & 17: YOUTH/TEEN+
1:30 - 3:30pm

Students will be introduced to processes that will expand their warm glass vocabulary and take kiln-forming to another level. A variety of techniques using the torch, vitrograph, etc. will be demonstrated. We will use hot glass elements as well as "frit wafers" and non glass inclusions between glass layers, including metals, minerals, mica, air bubbles and organic inclusions such as leaves. We will also explore the use of printmaking techniques and etching in the fusing process. Familiarity with glass cutting and with basic fusing and slumping techniques is helpful, but not essential. Basic materials are included; additional materials and tools are available for purchase.

Evening Media Survey: Clay, Metals & Textiles

If you ever wanted to explore your creative side - but aren't sure what you'd like to do - this is a terrific opportunity to get an introduction to a variety of processes - and create a little something in each! No experience necessary! Basic supplies are included; additional materials are available for purchase.

Music, pizza, friends - and art! Well, we were snowed out last month, so this month we will make our bracelets! No experience necessary - all materials included. Register early, limited to 10 participants.

Students who are enrolled in on-going classes and wish to have additional studio time are welcome to attend monthly studio nights. Both studios are open, however studio space is limited, so be sure to call in advance to reserve a spot. Plan on bringing your own project, supplies and consumables.
